Back to back Tons for TC’s Sackfield

Thornton Cleveleys made a winning start to life in Div 1a with a comfortable win away at Kirkham. Victory was all the sweeter with a maiden Saturday century for u18 Josh Sackfield who anchored the innings with a sparkling 122 as TC posted 227. Ably supported by, another of TCs promising crop of U21s, Cameron Chisholm with 35. Skipper D Howard was in good form with the ball with 4-13 to seal a resounding 95 run win.
Josh then went on to make it 2 in 2 when he opened for TCs Sunday u21s side again at Kirkham and hit another century retiring on 103* to take his side to a commanding 258/4 with key support from Josh Rolinson 48, Chisholm 45 and a swashbuckling 28* from Will Weber. TC restricted Kirkham to 195/8 off their 45, with the youngest Sackfield, brother Jacob, the pick of the bowlers with 3/29.
A great start to TC’s 2019 campaign.
