The Moore and Smalley Palace Shield player of the month for August / September is Antony Ellison of Fylde.  During the period, he scored 80 runs and took 17 wickets as Fylde finished the season with a strong run of victories.  At the start of August, they looked dead and buried at the bottom of the Premier Division but a run of fine performances kept them in touch before a dramatic last-day win saw them leap out of the bottom two places for the first time this season and avoid relegation. The team of the month for the same period is Bretherton who were Division 6 champions.  They were one of several teams with 62 points from 5 wins and an abandoned fixture in the 6 week period but were chosen due to the progress they have made as a club over recent years.  They joined the league for season 2019 after previously being turned down until they could improve their facilities. Great work on and off the pitch saw them elected for this season and they struggled at first.  However, once they found their feet they got stronger as the season wore on and are worthy winners of the August award before their next challenge in Division 5 next season.
