A new innovation for this year, TOTW will be selected week by week. The idea is that it is an
eclectic team based on outstanding performances. As such it could be taken to represent
the ‘best of’ the Palace Shield and Northern League on any given week. Intended as an individual accolade but it is
also as a point of pride for clubs whose players accumulate TOTW appearances over the
season.

We will endeavour to select a balanced team with top and middle order bats, seamers, slow
bowlers and wicket-keeper. A captain will also be nominated. In other words, how the team
would be set up if it was actually going to take the field.

As it is a ‘best of’ inevitably weighting will be given to achievements at the higher levels. But
it is recognised that week by week there are outstanding performances at all levels. So great
performances that have not quite made TOTW will be mentioned in despatches.

Max Green (Wk)	St Annes	A Key stumping and 36 helped St Annes pick up an important 12 points in Div 2.
Blake Buttar	Mawdesley	75 and 6-46 earns a TOTW but not 12 points at Rectory field.
Matthew Cline	Torrisholme	52not out at Number 8 helped TCC pick up the win and stay above the drop zone.
Sajid Patel	Preston	80not out carrying his bat helped Preston keep faint hopes of second alive.
Joshua Sackfield	Thornton Cleveleys	Hes here again, this time after a 83 ball 112no at home to Morecambe.
Joe Lyth	Rufford	EIGHT wickets for Joe as Westgate and Rufford tied.
Daryl Wearing	Barrow	Daryl rolled back the years as his 9-4-13-6 dismissed Garstang for just 38.
Mark Hitchen	Grimsargh	50 from 34 helped Grimsagh defeat BAC in a reduced game and move in touching distance of the promotion spots.
Paul McNally	Charnock St James	29no added late runs before 12-7-22-6 blew Longridge away.
Arbab Munir	Fulwood & Broughton	9-21 (im sure he is wishing Pete Haslam hadnt got the first run out) as Fulwood gave their survival hopes a boost in Div 3.
Paul Rithallia	Charnock St James	Didnt Bat but no byes in a CSJ win.

Team of the Week (Matchday 15)

James Lee (Capt)	Chorley	6-17 helped Chorley dismiss Garstang for just 61 as his team won by 130 runs.
Kyle Helm (Wk)	Longridge	70no but no win against Croston, TOTW will have to be Kyle’s consolidation prize.
Chris Parry	Carnforth	86 gave CCC the platform to pick up 12 points as they chase promotion.
Joshua Sackfield	Thornton Cleveleys	Will have been disappointed 56 and 4-24 didnt see the points taken back down the M6.
Elliot Mackreal	Euxton	A Devastating opening spell saw Preston reduced to 21-4 picking up all four, He finished on 5-42.
Justin Banks	Kirkham & Wesham	The OA turned up with a point to prove in the bottom of the table clash, 15-6-15-7 dismissed Vernons for just 84. Shame his side came second.
Kashif Jamil	Vernon Carus	And the reason for the Vernons win was the 16 year old spinners 5-26 from 8.4 overs.
Joseph Bradshaw	Lancaster	A Explosive 41 in the 1st innings and 3-10 in the second saw Lancaster move up to second.
Aaran Lewin	Blackpool	Chippy Dave’s 118no saw Blackpool stay in the hunt for 1B Promotion. (Plus 2-18 off 12)
Glen Kermode	Barrow	7-51 saw Barrow remain top of 1A in there clash with Westgate.
Josh Charles	Netherfield	99not out (couldnt get the 3 on the final ball) earns a TOTW appearance for the Netherfield skipper though a Hundred will come soon im sure.
Ryan Wells	Walton le Dale	35 with the bat and 5-34 with the ball moved the dale to the top of the pile in Division two.

Glynn Parkinson (Capt)	Penwortham	62not out on Match Day 13 helped Penworthan overcome a tricky game at Hoghton.
Will Thistlethwaite (Wk)	Great Eccleston	Donning the Gloves for Ecky, Will not only scored 95 on Match Week 13 but didnt let any byes through either.
Irfan Qayyum	Lancaster	3-13 in a reduced overs game gave Lancaster the edge over Kirkham.
Matt Moat	Great Eccleston	52 on Matchday 14 wasnt enough for Ecky to beat Torrisholme as they dodged the rain.
Saeed Bariwala	Torrisholme	A Hard Hitting 50 off 32 balls helped TCC chase down a revised DLS total with an over to spare.
Dan Golding	Rufford	Runs and Wickets on MD14 helped Rufford beat Garstang.
Zakirhusen Momla	BAC Preston	46 Opening the batting in the Local Derby with Preston earnt 12 points in the race for 1A.
Danny Dixon	Blackpool	Carried his bat for 55 as Blackpool provided Fylde with their first loss of the league campaign on Match Day 13.
Mubarak Munshi	Grimsargh	On MD13 his 5-38 saw Eckleston fall short of the required total.
Freddie Butcher	Kirkham & Wesham	7 Overs 4-3 saw Fulwood dismissed for just 25. Added 16no in the short chase to avoid any hiccups.
Jamie Ashton	Bretherton	With 72no Bretherton fell just short of the DLS target at Mad Nook but deserves a place on the TOTW.
Tom Wilson	Norcross	Norcross got the derby win on MD14 vs TCCC. In a Low Scoring game Tom’s 3 Wickets and 12 off 51 helped NX to a 1 wicket win.

Imran Mehmood	Preston	75 before being run out as Preston posted a match winning score vs Torrisholme
Usman Khushnood	Standish	109no helped Standish to post 259 and beat Fulwood.
Paul Rochester	Gregson Lane	7 Wickets from 15 Overs from the Greggy Lane Stallwart earns a spot in this weeks team.
Tom Parkinson	Carnforth	Nerves were jangling at 54-5 but Tom added 47 alongside Shane Dixon to get his team over the line.
Naveed Iqbal	Preston	On Debut taking 4-35 saw Preston sneak a win by just 3 runs.
Blake Buttar	Mawdesley	Just edged out a couple of his team mates with the fact his sensible knock helped get the important max points vs Vernon Carus.

Aarron Stephens	Netherfield	65 in a 136 run opening partnership helped Netherfield in a big win over Standish.
Sajid Patel	Preston	In a High Scoring game, 92 from the opener set up Preston for their impassable 250.
Andrew Hogarth	Kirkham & Wesham	Hogarth rolled back the years as he took on Carnforth’s batsman singlehandedly, finishing 8-32 from 12 overs.
Joe Lyth	Rufford	The whole of Rufford was on cloud NINE as Joe dismissed F&B for 26, taking 9 Wickets for just 6 runs.
Shane Burton	Morecambe	Scoring 128 against his local rivals and still ends up on the losing side, hopefully a TOTW inclusion will help raise morale
Ben Simm	Lancaster	Three wickets in the first innings, but 24not out as it was getting edgy saw Lancaster take the bragging rights.
Matthew Finnerty	Penwortham	6 Wickets for Matthew helped Penwortham to maximum points from their trip to Torrisholme.
Craig Buchanan	Westgate	110 was just enough as Westgate held on to beat Croston by 2 runs
Paul Chapman Jr	Vernon Carus	118 (PC) and 119 (HZ) sharing a 200 run partnership as VC beat Whittingham at Factory Lane.

Northern League

With only one point separating the top 3 the title-race is bubbling up fascinatingly as we approach mid-point of the fixture list. Most games are close and competitive with some excellent cricket being played across the league. We seem to be set up for a fascinating second half of the season.

Luke Platt (cpt)	Longridge	A second half century of the season for the Longridge skipper ensured his side posted a very competitive total.
Adam Sexton (wk)	Leyland	4 victims in the Blackpool innings made him the leading keeper this week.
Kurtis Watson	Leyland	62 not out against Blackpool held the innings together but from an innings position of 68 for 5 it was just about bonus points.
Luke Smith	Garstang	58 from the opener making a very consistent start to his NPCL career.
Alfie Dobson	Chorley	Narrowly missed out on back-to-back league centuries but his great form continues.
Matt Smith	Flwd & Br	71 not out from only 57 balls faced underlined a thoroughly dominant performance suggesting the Fulwood & Broughton should be climbing the table now they are getting a few players back.
Simon Kerrigan	Flwd & Br	Perhaps surprisingly opened the bowling but looked like a great strategy after claiming 4 for 20 in 15 miserly overs to ensure the St Annes innings never got going.
Josh Pistorius	Chorley	An undefeated half century followed by 4 wickets. A very good all-round day for the Loughborough university student in the high scoring encounter against Fleetwood.
Khalil Patel	Flwd & Br	Signed off last season by bowling out the league champions. In his first game of this season, he was straight into the groove, or should that be the channel. 5 for 29 in the demolition of St Annes at Vernon Road.
Matthew Grindley	Blackpool	4 for 48 in his max allocation of 50 overs prevented Leyland from getting near their target score.
Shivam Choudhary (pro)	Blackpool	Remarkably recorded his 4th league century and we are not yet at the half-way point of the season.

Nathan Trengrove (Capt)	Mawdesley	76no off 25 balls (Including 9 sixes) gave all the Momentum Mawdsley needed as they closed the gap on the top 3 with a Big win over Carnforth.
Aravindhan Rajasekar	South Shore	85 from Arav took South Shore to victory against Coppice in the top of Div 4 clash.
Daniel Unsworth	Mawdesley	79 opening the batting set up the platform for his captains explosive heroics at the tail end of the innings.
James Bone	Euxton	Despite dropping down the order after his 5 wickets, James still hit the winning runs to get Euxton over the line and to the top of the table.
Nazavish Ali	Preston	Nazavish’s 103 including an opening wicket partnership of 141 helped Preston climb off the foot of the table.
Ian Dunn	Vernon Carus	First Half Century in two years showed Vernons what they were missing last year in the NPL.
Noor Elahi	Lancaster	If his 186 last week wasnt good enough to get picked for Lancaster 1s, He went and Smashed 200 this week as Lancaster posted Division Three record setting. 410. He is the 8th batsman to pass 200 in a Palace Shield game.
Kyle Dixon	Chorley	A depleted chorley had to thank a Big Hundred from Dixon as they inflicted defeat on Westgate.
Matthew Cline	Torrisholme	4 Wickets including the Big one of Sackfield was enough to help Torrisholme to a 20 run win.
Oliver Lombard	Vernon Carus	6-56 off his 15 saw Vernons surprise Lancaster (from the form table)
